Using Your Library Card
A library card gives you access to all of the services and materials at the Bethlehem Public Library. It allows you to borrow books, videos, audiobooks, games, magazines, passes to Connecticut museums, parks and forests and much more! Anyone can get a library card. Residents will need to present an ID with a current Bethlehem address or an ID with something that verifies your current address, such as a recently received piece of mail, checkbook or a lease. Out-of town borrowers may have their card from the town they live in entered into our system. Patrons under 14 must have a parent or legal guardian with them to sign the library card application form. Applications are available at the Library. Each eligible borrower must apply for and use his or her own library card. Please read carefully the Library Card Terms and Conditions for complete eligibility requirements and additional information. Replace a Lost or Stolen Library Card First, report your card as lost or stolen, either by phone (203-266-7510,7), to Library personnel. The cost of replacing a lost or stolen library card is $1.00 which is assessed at the time the card is reported lost. Please be aware that when you apply for your Bethlehem Public Library card, you accepted responsibility for all items on the card, all use made of the card and all charges made against it until your card is reported lost. The Library must have a record of your card having been reported lost, or it is not considered lost. Renew Your Library Card Expiration dates are applied to library cards at the time the card is issued. To renew an expired card, come to the Library to renew the expiration date and update your personal information if anything changed. Renewing Library Materials Materials may be renewed an additional check-out periods online, in-person or by phone by calling the Library, as long as the item is not on reserve for another patron.
